Paddlewheel CAD drawings?

Hi all,

I have a UK manufacturer who is seriously interested in producing some paddlewheel frames in a range of sizes in CNC cut styrene. That's just the frames, not the complete wheel, at least not at this stage!

But what he requires is a set of CAD drawings of a typical sidewheel frame (similar to the Graupner ones), and another for a typical sternwheel frame (as on my model of the Suter). He will then look at producing the frames in a range of sizes - Say 4",5" and 6" for the sidewheels, and 5",6" and 7" for the sternwheel....

So can anyone help with CAD drawing for fairly generic paddlewheel frames along those lines?

As we all know, the paddlewheels are the one thing that put most modellers off attempting a paddler, so this seems like a fantastic opportunity!

Hi Eddy, I have AutoCad on my computer and that is what I made the drawings for the Suter with. If you could find out exactly what this gentleman needs I would be happy to help out.

Thanks George, nice to hear from you again....

All he needs is CAD drawings of the wheel frames, not including the floats or feathering mechanisms etc - Just the bare frames.

Hi Eddy, It's nice to be heard from. I guess I should have been more specific. AutoCad comes in versions much the same as other softwares. What is he set up for (which version) and where would you like the file sent to, you or he?

Ah right, sorry George I should have realised....

Apparently AutoCad DXF will be okay, if that makes sense? It's as clear as mud to me!
