No trouble to knock you out some paddle wheels Eddie. If you have a drawing with dimensions it should be no worries. Cost would be plywood and postage. Just let me know.

Richard

Thanks Richard, that's very kind - I've been thinking about building an Aussie paddler for a while. My favourite is probably PS Industry, but I need to find some plans for her, or failing that a LOT of photos!

I'd like to build a model around 48" in length, so would need paddlewheel frames to suit that...

Does anyone know of (or have) any plans for the Industry?

I'm pretty sure builders plans still exist of the Industry.  But, I can't remember where though.  Next time I speak to someone in South Australia I'll ask for you.

Hey Richard, if you're ever looking for a big challenge, I'm looking for someone to build a model of the Excelsior using only old pictures, dimensions & some photos of the builders model (half hull only) that I should be receiving in the not too distant future.  I won't be ready financially for a couple of months yet, so if anyone is interested, let me know.

Sorry for hijacking the thread for a post!

Sean mentioned in Jan 05 he thought he had plans of the Industry.

I am happy enough to ring the Tourism office in Renmark (thats where they run the Industry from) and see if they have plans available.

I did find this article, but it does not have scale plans but it may be of interest Eddy.

Thanks Martin,

I've split this off from Richards original post so we don't drift totally off topic...

Lets see if Sean has any plans first before you start searching..... Although I'll definately take you up on your offer if he cannot help. Excelsior has also offered to help in my search - Thanks guys!

The link to the article you posted is great - It's been a long time since I heard anything from Brett. Maybe he's moved onto other things?

Foat -a-boat has several Murray paddler plans available.

Regrettably no Industry by the looks of it though.

I thought this was already in the plans thread elsewhere on the site, but I was unable to find it.

I have a set of plans Eddy

They're in a book I own, don't know how good they are (I'm not a modeller remember!) but I'll get them scan them in and send them to you right now!

Hopefully they will be of some assistance.

I believe I uploaded my Industry photos into the gallery and I know Roderick has a few if that helps you too Eddy!

Thanks Sean - The plans are a great help. Could still do with more photos though if anyone has any - Especially of the rear of the hull....

Might have, I'll check my photos from my Renmark trip.

Oh BTW Eddy the Plans for Miss England arrived today (not paddler related I know but....).  They look good.

Thanks Martin, that would be greatly appreciated.... In fact any photos of the Industry would be great - Sean has posted quite a few in the photo gallery, but more are always welcome!

Here's a couple of links to some pictures of the Industry under construction & throughout her working life.

I'm still waiting for a chance to speak to someone about whether there are any plans in existence.

Construction:

Completed:

There are a few photos of the original Industry (there were 2) in there.  This is the only place that I've ever seen pics of this boat.  Just ignore the dates of photos, this collection has a lot of incorrect dates.

I am assuming you've seen photos #400-401 in the gallery which were taken a couple of years ago?

Nope I'd missed those (as usual!), so thanks for the heads up.... I'm now starting to build up a reasonable collection of photos, which will all be useful when I start to build her.
