Forum Subscriptions
« on: April 15, 2005, 10:18:58 PM »
It seems that some users are a little confused about the "Forum Subscriptions" feature....

Unlike our days on Yahoo, you don't just subscribe to ONE message area. When you click on "Forum Subscriptions" at the top of the page, you must subscribe to each message area seperately.....  Click on the small down arrow to the right of the box that lists the message areas.... this will give you a list of all the areas you can subscribe to, and you can then select only the areas that interest you - You aren't forced to take ALL message areas.

Once you have subscribed to the areas you want, any new messages will be forwarded to your email address - But ONLY new messages in the areas you have selected!  If you've entered a fictitious email address (why do people do that?) you won't get any mail!

I hope that clears things up, but if anyone has any further questions, please ask...

The software that runs the email subscriptions has been upgraded - Hopefully this will allow us to have file attachments handled soon, however, there is a small downside...... The changes mean the database that holds the info on who is subscribed to each forum has had to be upgraded as well, this is a quirky procedure to say the least, and may have resulted in some of you now being subscribed to forums you do not wish to take!

Please log on to the forum, click on "Forum Subscriptions" at the top of the page and check the areas you are linked to.....  Unsubscribe from any you do not want to receive.

No-one will have lost any forums they were linked to, the only thing that could happen is you may now be linked to more forums than you were originally....

I hope that makes sense?

If anyone has any problems please let me know - If all goes to plan, we should have file attachments available in a few days...
