Hi Boaters,
I'm very new in this kind of R/C hobby, and I hope to learn very much from this forum, and when my lettres or text is noth that good, I like to say sorry cause my English is not so good. I like to start with a simple modell and I can tell you that I have 2 Engines. the first is a brandnew nitro motor from the beginning of the 90s but never run before and it's an OS.Max .32 F mx tunning on nitro and a watercooled head. The other is an electrical Mabushi 540. I don't know if I can use them. The nitromotor is good for speedboats but I don't know if I can use him in that kind of paddleboats. The most I like is the stern wheeler. I forgot to introduce myself, sorry for that. I'm 47 years old, happy married and 2 beautifull daugthers and last year at the end of the year I've had a heart attack and at the end of februar I had aritmy on my hart. And now I have to take it very easy and that kind of boats interested me allready for a long time, but never started to build one. So I hope you can help me.
Best regards,
Patrik.

Hi Patrik and welcome to Paddleducks. You will find us a very friendly and helpfull lot. I particularly like the picture you posted by mistake, that is one very atmospheric picture. The sky is superb.
Nitro ( or IC engines to us old ones) are next to useless in paddlers, in that you have to reduce their speed via a gear box. down to about 100 to 130 revs per minute not an easy task!. Your 540 motor could be anything as that is a generic name for a certain size of motor. On the motor casing there should be a series of letters and numbers. If you post them on the propulsion section of the site, one of our members will be able to interpret them and tell you whether it is suitable for a paddler. Idealy you want a low drain motor with a gear train or some other reduction drive. Keep posting ang again, welcome. Regards, Walter.

Hi Walter,
This Mabushi 450 motor was used in a scale 1 to 10 electric racecar over 25 years back. And we ran them on a 6 pack batery on 7.2 volts. On the plastic back side is standing Mabushi 450. Nothing else. Oh yes and it's made in Hong Kong. You told me that the rev. is between 100 and 150. Do you mean 150 rpm ? And I also like to have plan for a simple stern wheeler. I have the plans from the mississippi but I think he is not easy to built, for a first time boat. Do you know where I can find it? I've read that your from England. We are every year at the end of august and beginning of september first weekend in Portsmouth south England and the weekend after that we are in Bristol. This are 2 big kitefestivals where they inviting us. It's a very cheap vacation for us. Sleeping and food are regulated and free for invited kiteflyers. During the week we travel from one place to the other and sleeping in a tent. I always count the days to go to these kitefestivals.
Best regards,
Patrik.
