Shaft Coupling supplier
« on: October 24, 2006, 07:28:50 PM »
Some time ago I asked about a small universal coupling and unfortunately no-one could help me but many wanted to get hold of them if they could. I think I have found a supplier but cannot email him as his email address seems to be locked. The website is www.psmescale.com and is located in Milford MA. If some of our American friends could verify their existence and let me know if the email address on their site is correct I would appreciate it. They also sell the one way clutch I need for my steam powered PS Pevensey

Thanks

Peter.
There are some useful universal joints shown in the catalogue of the model Dockyard. You can make them up into singles or doubles.
I bought the double ones for my 1:48 twin screw tug and they worked just fine. They work well in compression but not so good in tension.

Good luck

David,
Thanks for the reply , I know of the Dockyard units and use them in boats but these are like the old type that were about 3/16 dia with a spring joint and very suitable for small models.

Further to my last message I got an email reply from Precision Scale Model Engineering and they do have the clutches and universal couplings I require. When I get some I will report further on them.
