New Old Aussie Paddlers

I have just uploaded 2 photos of new models at our lake. The first is the P.S. Eva which was used on Lake Wendouree in Ballarat Victoria, it not my model but details are : Electric powered fwd only esc, 650mm long and real pretty on the water. The second model is only semi scale and based on the P.SD. Anna Marie which plied the Hunter River system in New South Wales. The model details are : Plank on Frame construction electric powered by a MFA 919D Motor/Gearbox unit, 12V power and soon to be fitted with a 12v "Super Smoke Generator" and steam whistle from Action Electronics. The model is 41 1/2 ins overall with a 9 1/2 ins beam and the builder, Mike Gill, is very pleased with the model stability and trackability even in reasonable cross winds. My Capt. Sturt is about 2 weeks from initial tests,

Thanks for those pictures, Peter.  I really like "Eva" which is a superb little model and as you say. very pretty on the water.  Do you know what reference/plans the builder used for his model and was (is) the real "Eva" IC or steam powered?  

The other model is very "interesting" in that it's reminiscent of a unique design of Aussie built sternwheelers around the mid 19th century.  Is there any more info available on the real "P.S. Anna Marie" and especially the sternwheel support and how it was mounted to the hull ?

    The original Eva was a steam powered unit with a vertical boiler which the models owner is in the process of building at present, you should see his "Oscar W" which I will take some photos next time he has it out. The only reference that the model was built from were apparently 2 old photos he came across in a book at Ballarat Library.
