Hudson River Maritime Museum

Two years ago I spent a very enjoyable afternoon at the Hudson River Maritime Museum which houses some fine paddler models and is staffed by friendly and helpful volunteers.

They have recently updated their Website and I was impressed to see it's become a very useful resource for Hudson River and New York area steamboats.  You will also find Fred Erving Dayton's book, "Steamboat Days" transcribed there at:

http://www.ulster.net/~hrmm/steamboats/dayton/steam19.html

The entire website is well worth a visit and can be found at:

Hi Paul

You gave me a fright there - as I mentioned a few weeks back (and have just followed up) I purchased a copy of "Steamboat Days" a few weeks ago - it would have been very upsetting in the museum had transcribed the entire 400 pages!.  They've actually just done a couple of chapters or extracts therefrom - the full Hudson chapter in the book is over 50 pages long.

Regards

David
