Paddle steamer "Medway Queen"

Please excuse this intrusion into the world of model making. It is
fast becoming plain that the only way the British government is going
to achieve maintaining any resembles to our maritime heritage is by
model making. Albeit this is one way to remember our heritage, and
why not, we have existing vessels that for the want of funding go
begging.
I refer to the British paddle steamer Medway Queen, Heroine or
Dunkirk, this vessel has unique history, but the Heritage Lottery
Fund seems to be blind to this fact. Making every excuse to drag out
the restoration of this vessel, why?

efforts that have been put into this project for the last twenty
years, which the Heritage Lottery Fund seems to ignore, why.

Len - I am sure that no PD member would consider your communication re
the status of the stagnant restoration of the "Medway Queen" due to
Governments priorities
an intrusion to our world of model paddlers

May sound silly, but we could start a Folder in our PD site & all
electronically sign it with supportive comments to be forwarded on to
the governmental body overseeing the Heritage Lottery Fund etc - would
any other PD member or moderator like to consider or comment on this? -

Thank you all for your continued support of the paddle steamer Medway
Queen, I have taken on board the comments that have been mention.
You are not far wrong in your summing up of the situation, having
work for the Medway Queen project for the last twenty years, I think
I have a reasonable view of the problems that face the restoration
project.
But apathy seems to remain supreme in the UK, though most agree on
the problem, few are prepared to air their view, what impact is their
comments going to make, or the fact of upsetting the powers to be.
I find this "cap in hand" approach hard to accept at times.
What are
the facts, One stick is easily broken, but mant sticks in a bundle
are a different problem. People have power at their hand but fail to
use it, why?
Please come forward and state what you think, it's your world,
not
reserved for the politician's.
