I am frequently having to use various scale conversions in developing
plans. Eddy sent me a scale converter a couple of years ago and
although it was pretty basic, I found it very helpful. Today, I
decided to look on the net for free scale converters and I found a
couple of useful ones.
The first is a small free download from Starship Modeler called
"Scalemaster" and handy to keep on your desktop or modeling page.
It's at:
http://www.starshipmodeler.com/tech/scalemaster.htmSecond one is an online scale calculator from Jim-Bob Wan which you
can bookmark. Find it at:
http://users2.ev1.net/~jimbobwan/scalcalc.htmAnother set of calculations I often need is converting decimal to
fractional inches and the chart I have made up for myself goes up to
1/64 fractions expressed decimally and vice versa. Nevertheless, the
following one I found on the net is quite useful and may be worthy of
a bookmark. It's from Editorial & Design Services at
http://home.inter.net/eds/paper/inchmetric.html#inchmetricHope this helps and please post any other "scale helpers" you have
found useful.
Regards to all
