Czech paddle wheelers
« on: June 20, 2005, 04:13:07 AM »
The dialogue on the Czech Paddle Wheelers has peeked my interest. I
am a new member to the group having found you while browsing for any
info on model ship building. About ten years ago I completed a Brass
replica of the D-10 Twin steam engine from Stuart Turner and
recently started building the steam tug Weymouth. Having no
instructions I having been flying from the seat of my pants so to
speak. Built the hull using the bread and butter method and it
worked quite miraculously I should say. I think I'll write a book on
the subject when I'm done!!

The reason I reply here is that I had the very good fortune of being
in the Czech Republic this past September to marry my Czech bride.
We stood on the very bridge depicted in the pictures and I admired
this wonderfull paddle wheeler passing under us. I thought at the
time I should model that some day! My wife is of course fluent in
the language and when she awakes this A.M. I may be able to talk her
into translating if you have any questions. Please be brief if
possible.

Sorry about the long message. I'm new at this game.

Happy holidays.
