Hi All
Another dumb ?? All the drawings and picts I have don't
show me if the SSSicamous has a keel or not I know she
has a steel hull but it doesn't make sence (to me) that she
wouldn't have a keel if for nothing else than a wear bar
Managed to steel enough time to get ribs roughed in without getting caught Hope to get skeleton made before
anybody catch's on to TKS for any help Bob

Not a dumb ?? Bob, but of course there must be a
keel, if only to hang the ribs on and keep them lined up, and as you
say it would also be a "wear bar", inside it would also no doubt
have a keelson to help in the way of a "strongback" and a basis for
the inner ceiling (lining).............Dai

I realize there would be a keelson but couldn't see
anything re exterior keel I would expect there would be
at least a 6" keel running full length which would serve
as a wear bar and steering aid Have a good day Bob

Hi all,
Bob, in answer to the question of a keel on the Sicamous. The Bonnington, Nasookin, and the Sicamous as you know were steel hulls but no regular keel. There was the keelson inside and a 3/8" steel keel plate about 2 feet wide over the hull plating at the center. These were lake boats and I don't think there was any problem with wear on the keel area.
