Albeit I do not make models of paddle steamer, or anything else
come to that, I spend quite a lot of time in trying restore one of
the reasons that lead to your hobby. This being the `Medway Queen'
which I am sure most of you know her history, so I will say no more
on that. If you want to know more on this project, being the
restoration of this paddler, please look at your links section, which
if you have an interest will lead you on to more information relating
to our venture. In the meantime carry on in your hobby, which at
least shows us how these ships of bygone years were, and like myself
give you sense of achievement.
Well done.
Len Knight.

dear Len, at last a real human being to contact Re the Medway Queen. I would
love to make a miniature model in cast resin about 9"- 10" long mounted on a
plinth so that you could sell them to raise money. Make a Waverley and a
Balmoral which are hand made and hand painted with etched brass rails and
sell for £40 each can't make enough and they raise funds. Also a Half model
same size etc in a frame for the same money, go like hot cakes, BUT I have
never had a reply to my requests for drawings or photos so I can help. I am
a retired Lloyds marine surveyor and marine engineer as well as a Tug
Master in Bristol. Now I make model ships of all sizes. Hope this idea will
help your worth while project. Most sincerelyBest regards Mike Mayhew.
