Paul, Here is the information you wanted for the data base about the models
and the museums they are in.
In 1988 I got involved with the S.S. MOYIE restoration so I built them the
model of the Moyie for a raffle, a local real estate ( Kaslo Realty)
acquired it from the winner, to use as their logo. several years later the
realty company returned the model to the Moyie society, had me clean it up
to put it on display at the Heritage Park in Calgary Alberta. At the same
time I made one for myself. The City of Nelson have a sister city in Japan
in which they have a park and replica of the original Nelson City Hall was
built for a display museum. The city approached me for this model so that is
where my second one is. In the CP Railway Museum in Cranbrook B.C. I have HO
scale water line models of the S.S. MOYIE, the tug HOSMER, and a wood barge
with slip. In the Nelson museum there is a diorama of the wharf and rail
slip of 1898, HO water line models of the MOYIE, tug KASLO and a two track
barge. The Trail B.C. museum asked me a year ago to build them the S.S.
TRAIL, which I did and delivered it last summer. My collection is in a
display room at home, my own travel museum. During the summer several are
displayed on board the S.S. MOYIE, the most appropriate place I know.
I hope you can get the information you need for your files from this. By the
way the little steam engine is 3/4 done and I can't wait for a test.
