What would YOU like to see?
« on: February 09, 2005, 10:06:16 AM »
Following on from Randy's post earlier today, and Pauls post on the old Yahoo forum....

Since we now have the core of the new website sorted, we'd like to know what YOU would like to see added (or changed) on the new site? What new features would you like to see, is there something you'd like to see altered in some way?

Now is your chance to give your ideas and suggestions on how we can improve the site - So don't sit back hoping someone else will ask for a feature YOU want, tell us now!

We can't gaurantee that everything can be done, but any suggestions will be looked into, and if it's possible we'll consider adding them.... After all, the whole point of the new site is to get things the way our users want, and not be limited by the old Yahoo way of doing things (even though a lot of features on the Yahoo forums were excellent!).

Regards
Eddy

The forum is now growing in respect to the number of Topics and Sections. Do you think that it is becoming desireable to introduce another level to the Index. For example:-

Paddleducks Forum Index->Information->Chat
Paddleducks Forum Index->Modelling->Construction

This would then allow the user to go back to other topics in the section without the need to scroll down the screen from the top each time.

I agree that would be nice Bob, unfortunately it's not possible at the moment.

However, the people that write the message forum that we are using are working on stuff like that now, so hopefully it will be possible to do that in the not too distant future.

Thanks for the info Eddy. By the way do you have a bell that rings to tell you that a new post is present. You always seem to respond within minutes to any question that I pose. Couldn't wish for better service.

Cheers

Hehehehe  - I wish mate! But to be serious for a moment, I have a TERRIBLE memory, so if I don't respond to something immediately I forget!

God help me when I reach my 60's or 70's - I won't remember my way to the front door!

Just to show how bad my memory really is, someone sent me this in an email the other day, and I thought it fitted my situation like a glove! :-)

There's a new virus going around. It is called C-Nile. Even the most advanced programs from Norton or McAfee cannot take care of it so be warned. It appears to affect mostly  those of us who were born before 1960.

 Symptoms of C-Nile Virus:
 1. Causes you to send the same e-mail twice
 2. Causes you to send a blank e-mail
 3. Causes you to send it to the wrong person
 4. Causes you to send it back to the person who sent it to you
 5. Causes you to forget to attach the attachment
 6. Causes you to hit "SEND" before you've finished the....

I own a gaming website which has a forum (this website however is goign down the drain) and it allowed you to make polls, this is something I would like to be able to do on this forum...if possible do it or we could do a popularity poll to see if it would be a good idea...oh sorry we can't no polls ( see how much it could help!)

You can already use Polls if you want to Sean - When you enter a NEW topic (NOT a reply to a current topic) you have the option to create a Poll at the bottom of the screen....

Well done Eddy. You obviously didn't find that too difficult :lol: Will have to find you something really hard next time.

By the way is the Waverley on the back burner at the moment?

Cheers Bob - It did take a while to figure out how to do what you wanted, but I'm getting better at this stuff as time progresses! :-)

The Waverley hull I had has been sold to Walter Snowdon - I wanted to do the "Suter" sternwheeler and couldn't really see when I would get around to the Waverley! As with most modellers, I have too may projects and not enough time!
