Paddle steamer models in English museums

Sorry to keep posting things! Paul ,re your request for listings of
models in UK museums. Heres a start. Transport Museum, Bristol: PS
Ravenswood 1891. Full hull glass case model. 48th scale. PS Glen
Gower full hull 48th scale. this is not on public display and is
awaiting restoration , but a request to visit the workshop will get
afriendly response. PS Great Eastern. Large scale glass case model,
scale unknown. I will visit Tyne and Wear museums, but from memory he
only paddler they have is a large (very) scale model of a wooden
hulled paddle tug. Like all museums they have a large model
collection (400 plus) scattered around various disused stores and old
churches with nowhere to display them and so far all my requests to
look at them have been turned down! I well remember my home town
(Sunderland) having over 200 models of Wear built ships on display,
now they have only ELEVEN. Very sad. I have albums full of model
paddler photos, but I never kept a record of where I took them! So i
will start again. Apologies for such long winded messages, but I have
loads of information whizzing around in my head! All the best, Walter.
