Hi all, Just a few photo's of my little Christmas project. I had to do some major surgery on the skipper figure for my 1/12 scale model of Monarch. The problem arose because I had to put a raised floor in her wheelhouse. So of to Monkenstein's lab for some surgery (cue evil laugh and thunder).
The first one is as he was supplied. A nice paint job but too tall and that right arm will have to come off.
The next one shows the poor victim in bits. The legs were cut with a junior hack saw and the arm was cut out with a small dentists cutter in my proxon mini drill. (shame about the finger though, must ask Igor where it went)
The third one shows him back together and filler applied. All the joints were cyanoed in place and reinforced with wire pegs for strength. The ones in the legs go right through his feet (Ooh nasty) and will be used to fix him in place.
And finally all done and ready to be fitted when the wheel house is finished.
All in all about six hours work but spread over five evenings. The whole thing cost me about £8. Not bad value.
