Hi David:

Here's a small update on JHA as reported by Martin Longhurst through
the Paddle Steamer Forum.

Martin says "Unfortunately she is stuck on a slipway adjacent to
Chatham Historic Dockyard, flooding with every tide. There is talk of
some grant money to start restoring her."

We have long since lost contact with Martin Stevens (her owner) and
his email has not responded for almost 2 years now. Martin's news is
not encouraging and one must severely question whether or not this
lovely paddle tug will be saved.

You used to have a contact at the Chatham Naval Dockyard whose name
is Mike Ivatt. Have you been in contact with him, David? Maybe he
can shed a little more light on JHA/s prospects of being saved.

Paul.
I had heard that she was flooding with every tide. That is the very worst
scenario for anything metal!!
No, I have not heard anything from anyone following my e-mail.
I will have a go at Chatham Dockyard again.
All the best
David
