Can anyone please give me some guidance on the correct colour of paint to replicate the 'yellowish' funnel colour seen on the CSP Clyde steamers.
Many thanks.

Hi Pete
I used humbrol no. 7 light buff with a touch of white in it on this Waverley...it took a bit of experimentation till I was happy. this is a gloss colour however so I went over it with satin varnish. Also humbrol seem quite erratic with their colours, I have 4 tins of no. 7 & they are all slightly different!
Depends also what "era" you are modelling, my Wav. is in 1950s condition when the funnels were more buff than yellow, The earlier CSP ships had a brighter yellow shade - "creamy yellow" its described as, in "The golden years of the clyde steamers", by Alan Paterson.
I think the funnels reverted to more "yellowish" in the 1960s.
Hope this helps,
regards
Clark
