Not sure if anyone may be interested in this, but since Inglis built quite a few paddlers, including the Waverley, here are some photos that may be of use.

Here is an oblique view of AJ Inglis with what may be a paddler on the slip.

If you have the Talisman book you will recognise the three legged sheerleg crane from photos 6, 21 and 24 and visible in the above photograph and here.

Again, in the first photo, if you follow the river Kelvin under the railway bridge you will see, on the east and paralleling the line some long buildings. These were the joiners shops.

The shipyard of DW Henderson was on the other side of the Kelvin, here on the left, AJ Inglis on the right.

One of the Glasgow (Govan) ferries went back and forth to a ramp just beside Inglis.

In those two photos you can see the south entrance to the yard. Here it is with your back almost to the river.

Again, referring to the top photo, on the other side of Inglis and the River Kelvin, was Yorkhill Quay

Here is what it looked like in the late nineties. You can still see the cut for the drydock on the west bank of the Kelvin and the cut for Inglis slipway on the east (just to the left of the circular spoil heap).

And then in 2005 they started filling Yorkhill Quay in ...

So they could build the new Transport Museum.

And, to put it all in context ....

To its right, where the 'i' is is the filled in Yorkhill Quay.

On the east bank of the Kelvin, right under the two road bridges is the berth 'Talsiman' is in pictures 21 and 24 of the Talisman book.

You can staill see the cut in the river bank where Inglis slipway was, but the cut on the other bank for the drydock has been obliterated under concrete.

North of the railway line on the east bank where the flats and Mauchline Rd is is where the Inglis joiner shops were.

And, just to bring it around to paddle steamers:-

What you refer to as Yorkhill Quay was, latterly at least, kown as Yorkhill Basin. Yorkhill Quay is the riverside quayside up stream of the basin
