Was crewing the PS Pevensey last night and on the return trip we raced PS Emmylou and Canberra. Pevensey was throwing the sparks out the funnel as we had her flat chat, was a great sight by all the guest, but too for ever to clean all the soot off the roof and decks after everyone had left!

For all you PS Adelaide fans especially Sean, I don't know what you did but she is getting 'converted' back to her 'original' colour of white(mushmellow) and brown trim. So hopefully she'l be done by the time she goes out next weekend for Australia Day.
PS Billy Tea has been sold, so Luke is currently pulling her engine out, as it wasn't part of the sale. Have attached a few other photo's for you all. Also James Maiden, she had a bingle a few weeks ago and she's been getting fixed up too.

PS Hero was out cruising last Saturday 2/2/08, here's some shots

Nice shots Michael, Hero seems to have a bit of darker smoke coming out there in the second shot- I trust no one reported her 

Both my Mum and I commented that she looks very similar to Pevensey in the second shot- it must be the size of the boat, it's not easy to notice the curve in the wheelhouse. But of course it's easy to tell the two apart with the boxes, colours and name plate.

She looks good going.

How does she look from the side?

Got any shots like that?

One turning a bend one day would be interesting.

Thanks Michael, she looks great, except for the slightly industrial looking railing on the lower deck, the upper deck railing is looking good and fits in perfectly.
Great to see her under steam/underway etc. !!!

I'm assuming you guys knows what happened to the Canberra's Funnel, but just incase you don't, it was broken in two when it hit an overhanging branch just downstream from Perfume Point (the Pump-Out Station), and there was more trouble on the way when one of the skippers ran her too close to the wreck of the 'Scottish Chief' Barge, and damaged one of the wheels, I can't be specific on the damage, but about 4 floats had to be replaced.

I found out that the 'Billy Tea' has sold to a lady in Bendigo, and that the little 2 n.h.p. Steam Engine in her wasn't part of the deal, so that's why Luke took it out.

Apparently, the 'Emmylou' is in the middle of a weekend trip up to Barmah, and the 'Pride' is being used for viewing the Southern 80 Waterski Race, which Iv'e tried looking for on TV, but it may only be the main Sunday race that is televised.

I got home from work early on Friday and logged on to the Web Cam ! - looks like the Northern End of the Wharf will be worked on first, but I could be wrong !
The D26 Barge is now moored along 'Shinbone Alley' (about halfway between the Wharf and the Bridge)
and the 'Adelaide' was out on the river and towed the 'Pevensey' to a spot justream from the Wet Dock, they were moored there for a while rafted off one another, whilst a crane very gradually came on the scene and lifted what looked like wool bales from the aft deck of the 'Pev'.
Afterwards, the Adelaide towed the Pevensey back to the Wharf, - she is currently rafted off the Pevensey, which is moored slightly south or upriver from her previous mooring, leaving more vacant space at the northern end of the Wharf.

Michael - Do you know if the dredging has been done yet ?

How long has D:26 been without logs for now?

Makes it hard to explain an outrigger barge without them. But It's about time they replaced them.

She's a nice ride when you're just being pulled along.

I don't suppose it means there's a planned trip up to Barmah with the Adelaide for a few new logs?

Sean, Actually I didn't even notice that the logs were missing !

Mmm so it would be interesting to find out what's going on.

Was just talking to my Mum about the fact that along with the new people at the Port there seems to also be a lot of new ideas. A lot seems to be happening now at the Port, things moving, being restored, new things being instigated. It should hopefully be a very good thing.
