Hello puddleducks

Just a quick intro, im Jules from Victoria Australia. I've had an interest in steam engines, locomotives and australian river boats/paddle steamers from a very young age thanks to my Pa being a steam fanatic and modeller.
Im contemplating a return to modelling myself having previously modelled boats in balsa as a youngster, and i thought why not take this to the next level and incorporate my passion for steam and actually build a scale model live paddle steamer.
Im actually quite rapt to have found this place as information is rather tricky to find on the world wide web and ive already found some topics in here extremely useful.
I look forward to making my decision on what PS to build and will no doubt have a squillion questions for you all as i go.
Just one question to any other Aussie members from Vic, are there any good clubs about that are more into steam boats rather than just locomotives?
cheers
Jules

Keep searching through Paddleducks Jules, several clubs have been mentioned.
One at Deer Park; one near Broadmeadows; one at Box Hill South; probably one at Ringwood; probably more.

There are several threads on building authentic Australian paddlesteamers, and one about a kit of generic style.

This weekend coming is Echuca Heritage Festival.  There is always a large display of models of Murray-Darling originals at the festival.  Photos of some are in some of the threads to which I have contributed.

If Clyde Glasgow is more your scene, there are the famous Port Phillip Bay paddlesteamers.  Other Victorian originals ran on Westernport, plus Curlip at Orbost and a couple more on Gippsland lakes.  All of these are in existing threads: use the search function and explore.
