2007 sees the steam sternwheeler Alaskan Queen, formerly Elizabeth Louise at Sacramento operating trips out of Ketchikan, Alaska.

Is this a sea-going paddle steamer, challenging Waverley's claim to be the only sea-going paddle steamer in the world?

Hardly sea-going, Alistair. The advertised tour confines itself to the Tongass Narrows East Channel, between the islands and looks to be a round trip of only a few miles.
Still, its nice to se another old ship being cared for and back in action.

Hardly old, she entered service in 1985 after 10 years building

And she made her own way up to Ketchikan from California, with a 2 month stop at a yard in Seattle for refurbishment

I'll get my coat, then!

I do not believe she made her own way from California. My information was that she was put on a barge and the barge was tugged to the shipyard where she was refurbished. She was going to be towed directly, but the insurance company would not cover the trip if made that way.
