Brett turned up at work yesterday with Industry.
Great model love the way he has set up the controls using two channels
Had me fooled for a while with a dam around he with over flowing spillway
we're in the middle of a five year drought here most dam are at less than 20%.

Paul,
Thanks for your kind words, re P.S Industry

As you say "gotta love them !!"

Control System
============
I'm using a simple 2 channel radio with 3 three servos ( 2 'Y' leaded together), thus

1 gimbal controls the 'throttle' , center STOP BOTH engines,
UP both engines FORWARD,
DOWN both engines REVERSE
( NO actual SPEED control )

2nd gimbal controls the rudder AND my motor control system, through various switches and the
slaved servo the rudder movement can forward|stop|reverse either motor. Basically as the rudder
moves the 'inside' motor is stopped then reversed as rull rudder is reached, And resumes normal
direction as the rudder is centered. Quite simple, having spent 3 months trying to figure it out !!

I cant go into too much detail at the moment a major model boating magazine is considering a article
I wrote about building the P.S Industry, and If they decide to publish the control system will be fully expained.
( If they dont publish I'll give the article to the group )
naturally I hope for publication as it will give paddlers some nice publicity.

Paddle wheel speed
================
I'm still experimenting with this, following some input from Derek on my Ford XD motor speed, I re checked
the actual RPM with another device and discovered that my motors are NOT running at @50RPM, but more
like 30 ! , SO back to the computer and recompute the required pulley size, onto the drill press and turn up some
larger plastic pulleys, I'll have to get longer 'O' ring belts -- they are so expensive @75 cents !! :-)

Interestingly I could not get a 'good' RPM reading directly from the motor, probably running too slow,
but optained reading directly
from the Paddle shaft and then computed backwards.

P.S Industry Photos
===============
I've posted 5 more photos in the P.S. Industry photo album, I've lots more but dont wish to swamp the site !!
I've a number of building stages photos, which I could post, and be very happy if you'd knock them off if you
need the space. Please advise.
Cheers,
Brett
