I have spoken with god! (P.N. Thomas to you!!)

For a long time I have suspected that the kit of the paddle tug
GLASGOW is a figment of Herr Graupners imagination as I could not
find any reference to her in my collected paddler and tug histories.
She just doesnt look right. (overlarge superstructure , skinny little
funnel, steamlined paddle boxes etc. Well, I was talking to Phil
Thomas about paddlers in general and the subject of the GLASGOW came
up. The word from God is there was never a paddle tug called Glasgow
and her construction is all wrong for any British built paddler. So
there you have it.... another subject for discussion! Cheerio for
now, Walter Snowdon.
PS. I have tried to persuade him to write a book on English and
Scottish paddle steamers in the same format as his British Steam
Tugs. Now there would be a besr seller !!!!.

Walter
P.N.Thomas.....wow. You certainly have your contacts "up there".
His was the first book I bought, and which was responsible for setting me
going scratch building the Scotia!!
How VERY interesting ref Graupner.
When I was looking round for a model paddler kit to build, I looked at the
Graupner one and rejected it for exactly the reasons you stated. In fact, at
the time I had some correspondence with PJ (remember him?) about it. You
would think that it would have been easier to build a scale model than make
one up!! Anyway very interesting.
All the best and thanks for the update.
Best regards
David
