Table saws, small and smaller
« on: June 17, 2005, 05:43:15 PM »
Hi everyone. I've been looking at mini table saws, and would like
some input on them.
1) MiniCraft (Micro-Mark) tiny 12-volt saw. Any good? I know it's
limited in size, but can it accurately cut planks say from a 1/32x4
sheet? This is my main requirement.
2) Jarmac table saw. Can cut thicker, I know. How is it otherwise?
3) Mini Mite from Harbor Freight. Have heard nothing about this
saw. For the price would this be OK for rough sawing, especially due
to its 4" blade?
I know the tops is the Preac, at least I can dream!!
Thanks for any input.

Hi John:

I would LOVE to have a mini table saw...although it's amazing what I
was able to achieve on my 10" blade...however, a bit scary with
fingers running just a little bit TOO close for comfort sometimes
and "push/pull sticks not too satisfactory...and the NOISE!!!!

Now, I'd be very interested to hear of your progress in researching
this...and for starters there are three groups which you might like
to copy your original post to:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ShipModelers-Forum/
(By far the largest wooden boat modeling group)

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/rchovercraft
(Our Eddy's group with now over 200 members!)

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ModelBoats
(Mike's friendly group and our "next door neighbours")

Try copy pasting your message into these groups as you're likely to
get some excellent feedback from them. I belong to them all (plus
another 16!!!) so I'll see it come up!
