New member from New Zealand

Hi. I have just joined. Though admittedly my connection with paddleboats is fairly tentative.

I have converted a small plastic toy paddle steamer into a model of the 19th century New Zealand gunboat 'Avon' for use in my hobby of miniature wargaming.

I'm now doing a painting of the same vessel, having recently taken up painting pictures as another hobby. Earlier today I posted a bit about this painting in the 'Chat & Off Topic Stuff' forum.

I am hoping this site will provide some expert advice to help me with details for my painting!
