out of my window
« on: March 23, 2021, 02:11:24 AM »
In Torbay, Devon England I have looked out over the last year, have viewed the cruise liners.  Sometimes as many as eight at time. Carnival, Cunard, P&O, Holland American, & Marella. Not seen N.C.L. or Royal Caribbean They have stayed in Weymouth bay. Quite a sight to see. Just Queen Mary2 Ventura & Marella Explorer here at present.

Well, good morning to you RGY  :coffee ...trust you have been keeping as best as can be  :clap.......

I look out at Sydney WEBcam via my PC every morning to the Harbour and had watched one mega vessel per day berth unaided at the International Terninal .....naturally I cannot see the passengers dis-embark or board, but I do see the bunker barges moor side on & complete the bunker within in 20 hours, then the vessel again slipps the ropes & departs without tugs ...literally one new berthing every 24 hours

Naturally, we have had no such vessels berth at any Australian Port for some 12 months........interestingly, a Wollongong based Company is the Providore for all alcohols & drinks to all the Cruise vessel companies & they are experiencing Mega Millions of $ in lost sales.........we don't hear too much of the same for all the other food consumables, but their providers would have obviously based their supply chains in a similar predicament

Today, Sydney Cove looks just a little grey & wet......keep well & best regards

Derek
