« on: March 11, 2019, 03:10:02 PM »
Whilst sitting at my pooter after Jo my wife retires to bed I like to paint in acrylics I get about 30 - 45 minutes in before neck & back give me grief the latest took 4 to 5 months to finish.
Dogs playing on pier with ducks in water.

The keyboard keys will give an idea of the size.

Quite a talent there Damien...whilst waiting [and waiting] in the telephone line for a Bunnings special order person I flicked through their WEB site  news & low and behold her is a painted picture of dogs waiting to enter the store......[with their owners]

So I read the article [all dogs must be kept in a basket in a Bunnings special trolley[ [with the exception of special assistance dogs]

A number of years ago, as Secretary of the Illawarra Live Steamers I assisted in drafting a revision to our Standing Orders with respect to the stated and Legal Policy on Dogs at the ILS grounds [in accordance with State & Federal directives] ei., to only allow a "guide type assistance dog" with their owner

In these days of serious litigation and legal responsibility ["some dog bit me on your land......the dog was not mine, so you must be at fault .......my Solicitor will be in touch" ......type thing]

The list or number of registered categories of guide type assistance dog is growing..

[Dogs for folk with sight impediment, sound impediment, for suffers of Autism, Asperger's ]........there are more......so naturally the revisions to Standing Orders were ......"as legally approved approved assistance Dogs' without naming the Category

So where is all this coming from?........the painting by Damien reminded me of an image from one of the Assistance Groups with a litter of young pups on a wharf..................

Nice work Damien.

I am hopeless at art but have gone back recently to an old hobby - poetry writing. I often write them by first doing a pencil first draft before going anywhere near my pc. Consequently I was looking for a 'writing slope' but none of the ones out there were sensibly priced or of the right dimensions.

I noticed a very nifty 'painting slope' on your desk and that looks just like what I am looking for....I assume it's home-made (I was going to build one but never got round to it)...just as a matter of interest what are the dimensions and what would you modify if you were to build a second one?

I reckon that as your artistic ambitions expand you're going to want a larger one?!

Thanks guys.

The slopey board is a drawing board I made in woodwork at Technical school in form 1 as a 12yo 55yrs ago where does time go.   :16 :16 :16

The board dimensions are 22'' x 17 1/2" top height at front is 3/4'' at rear 3 1/4 at rear with masonite top.
