Plastic models?

Does anyone know of any plastic kits (Airfix, Revell etc) that could be converted to miniature radio control?

I don't have the space to build the size of model that I used to, or the time to build one, so perhaps there's a plastic kit that I can convert? Any suggestions would be welcome....

With todays RC equipment just about any of them that will float can be done.

PS I remember seeing a paddleboat model European style hat the hobby shop that could be done but can't remember the name.

I didn't make it clear that it was a paddler that I'd like to build. So do any of you know what paddlers are out there that could be converted to RC?

Dimensions on box show it as 315 mm long.

You have to be very careful about weight with the plastic kits especially the river boats.  They tend to be top heavy and there not a lot of draught to play when you try and ballast them.

There was once a plastic blockade runner paddler...by Revell I think....very small by this sites standards....about a foot long?...one stack.

I built it once back in the '70's and sold it on Ebay about 10 years ago for a good price. I still see them there from time-to-time.

If I still had it I would probably put a small electric motor in it and a paddle drive shaft..and a steering mechanism...just for the children's boating pool at Whitby!!!

     I think you're thinking about the Pyro/Lindberg Kit " Civil War Blockade Runner" in 1/124th scale.  which, I think, was later re-marketed as the "USS Harriet Lane".
