Hello everyone, from Manitoba - about as far from the sea as you can get in Canada LOL!

I have always loved boats! I am a Newfoundlander, grew up on the Grate Lakes, and owned various boats, mostly cruisers. I have also been involved in "live steam" most of my life, usually running traction engines. I have been a modeller, off and on, for many decades, everything fro HO railroading to building a 1/2 scale steam traction engine. I own and operate a 1/8th size (1.5" = 1') locomotive and an electric streetcar.

At various times I considered building a 1:1 sternwheeler but the regulations were onerous but I recently picked up a Dumas sternwheeler kit and started building. I would LOVE to build it as a live steam model but may start out electric and convert it to steam later.
