Getting 50lbs of boat into and out of the water

I had to find a solution to getting my sternwheeler in and out of the pond.  It is a spine breaking adventure lifting the boat while standing on soft/muddy ground.  It is such a pain that it has been keeping me out of the water.  So after trying to make a crane, and a sled that rides down a ladder, both of which failed it came down to a simple trailer.  I used PVC pipe and 4 old wagon wheels and a bit of rubber mat to build it.  I used a few suggestions from other modelers like the rubber to keep the boat from sliding off the trailer.  The pole to push the trailer came from a swimming pool cleaner.  I gave it a test today just to see if it worked.  I didn't have time to run the boat today just testing the trailer.  It looks like its going to make boating much nicer, it worked great

Is the PVC tube ballasted to stop it floating?

Thanks guys,  its nice to have something work like I imagine it should.  Most of the time I find myself having to backup and rework many times.  That saying ' even a blind squirrel gets a nut once in awhile ' applies here

I have been quiet because life has been busy and boating in 90 to 100 degrees F ( 32C to 37C ) with plenty of humidity is not too appealing

Derek -  I just left the pvc open so it floods with water. The trailer does float but only after the boat does .  Nice thing about that is I wont lose the trailer to the bottom of the lake if it gets away
