Have recently retired and want to revisit a half finished model steam engine I gave up on years ago. Great web site!

Hello DamienG,
I am in Rangiora, but not a member of any model club as my interest up to now has been in vintage cars. I want to look at making a model piston steam engine, having already made an oscillating traction engine. I need to know what sort of tooling is needed and where to access materials. Any help appreciated. Cheers.

Hi Stuscott, I am in Waihi (the one near Tauranga not the South Island one). Seems we share similar interests as my partner and I are VCC members also. We have a Sunbeam Talbot 90, an AJS 650 and several steam boats. Post some photos of the steam engine or send a personal message through this forum and lets see if we can figure out what you have and what is needed to finish it. Cheers, Ian.
