Hi folks, I have signed up to try and help my brother with his paddle boat. I am into fast boats so this is a bit of a change for me. We stay in a small town called Swellendam in the Western Cape of South Africa. Our nearest hobby shop is 220km away, so all help will be appreciated. E-mail works the best for me.

Welcome Andre,
With the internet and ebay and groups like Paddleducks distance to hobby shops doesn't have to be a problem progress is slowed whilst awaiting the goods to arrive or some companies won't ship to some areas.
There are 4 hobby shops where I live and none stock boat stuff even though we have a 2km by 1km lake in the centre of it.
Any questions just ask someone will have the answer and share it with you.
Damien.

Welcome, and tell us more about the paddler. Sternwheel, sidewheel, real or imagined, scale, all those things will help us help you.

Hi there
Another "newbie"
I'm looking for information about the paddle steamer (side) "STURT", built at Port Adelaide, South Australia and used for coastal transport in New Zealand 1860 ish. With a view to making a working model.
