RTR Paddlers
« on: April 12, 2015, 09:39:50 PM »
From 'The Scale Modeler' in the USA, two paddlers, Strongbow and Creole Queen (Sternwheeler) are available as RTR models. The company does offer international shipping. Their version of Strongbow does look a good size at 26" (660mm).

At those prices I doubt they sell many perhaps as displays in corporate offices.

and don't forget to add taxes which vary and could be 8-9% + shipping, though they say shipping on $250+ free.
SCRATCH BUILT MODELS SUCH AS THIS SELL IN THE MANY, MANY THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS, SOMETIMES TAKING YEARS TO COMPLETE....BUT NOW, THROUGH AN EXCLUSIVE FACTORY ARRANGEMENT,[/size] WE CAN BRING YOU THIS EXCEPTIONAL SHIP AT AN AFFORDABLE PRICE.
My guess is that this company is NOT in the USA, since one has to email for anything ,including support.
It also doesn't indicate whether one need their own RC equipment. the few static models look interesting and maybe corporate offices in Dubai or Honk Kong or south Korea--no ship building to speak on in the US now.
Some few weeks ago, I saw on ebay a 54' scratch built model of the USS Minneapolis for $1100 and according to the description it took some 1000 hours to build by a well-known award winning builder. 1$ an inch. That is depressing.

Interesting the screed on the Strongbow says it's a single prop.

Well it only has one prop shaft even if it is driving 2 wheels. Maybe it is referring to this, rather then independent control on the wheels?
