Delta Queen moving
« on: March 13, 2014, 03:33:10 AM »
Just returned from photographing the Delta Queen and found out that it was sold for 13 million dollars and will no longer be a hotel but will be moved to Cincinnati Ohio and will be a museum.
The winter was cold and a water pipe burst and they were repairing the damage.
For those who wonder why the boats on this river and others are flat bottomed the answer is water height.
I enclose two photos of a 35 foot statue on the river bank in St Louis of Louis and Clark returning from exploring the 1812 Louisiana Purchase. The city in several weeks will move it to higher grounds before this years expected floods.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside thoroughly used up, totally worn out.

Today I read where the Ohio river basin got 6 more inches of snow.
