I have been researching Nile paddle steamers for a number of years.
A friend was in Cairo a few years ago and took some photos for me of some side-wheel steamers along the embankment in the middle of Cairo, but was unable to find their names. He was also on board SWS Ibis and took some photos for me.
My records show the following to have been in service a few years ago: NILE PEKING/TIME MACHIBNE, SUDAN, KARIM, MEMNON and the screw steamer MISR. I imagine with the recent unrest they have ceased operation. I have seen photos of stern-wheelers INDIANA and NIAGARA, originally from the Anglo-American fleet.
The people ate Thomas Cook sent me a copy of a detailed fleet list of their steamers and a copy of a magazine called Time Traveller with a list of all the Thomas Cook steamers.
