Well it's not the only reason for flying home
but am looking forward to it.
My daughter runs the Hartlepool Gymnastics Club and they are having their official opening by Beth Tweddle (Olympic Gymnast) the day before so Dad has to be there for that.

I'm so disappointed that one of my busiest days of the working week is a Sunday and that I won't be able to make it. Since I'm so close now it would have been a wonderful opportunity.
All my steam plans are going out the window because of weekend work, I'd registered myself to volunteer at the Kew Bridge Steam Museum (just down the road) but they're currently only open weekends when I can't attend.

Sorry you can't make it on Sundays Sean
If you are in the area on the Wednesday following feel free to call at the club in the afternoon when the kettle will be on and at least one paddler available to sail
Just email us if you are coming.

I definitely feel that now I'm here in the UK a meet up of some kind has to happen. I can tell you wonderful stories about the mythical Australian paddle steamers in person!

Only a few days to go now, so I hope everyone has their models ready for the big day?
The weather forecast says it will be overcast and breezy, but fine and dry - So for early September we can't complain at that can we?
I made a flying visit to the club yesterday, and it looks like the crew at Darlington & District MBC have got everything ready. They all do a great job with the show each year, and it takes a LOT of organising believe me!
So lets hope for a good turnout.. Don't forget the Bring & Buy stall will be in operation again, so bring those unwanted items along and earn a few quid, or pick up a bargain or two!
Looking forward to seeing everyone on Sunday...

Hi Graham
The event starts at 10am and runs until 4pm with raffle draw, prize giving etc around 3.30pm (we need to have the hall cleared and tidied by 4.30). Hope this helps, see you there.

Hi Eddy and all going to Paddler Day.
Best of luck for a brilliant day, and may the sun shine, the wind be gentle, and the waters smooth.
Wish I was able to be there, maybe next year. Will see.
cheers

Well, paddler day is over for another year
and we're all exhausted but happy to have had an enjoyable day and to have met some old friends and made some new ones. Thanks to all who attended and especially to those who assisted with setting up (and clearing up) on the day
