Warship paddlers of WW2

Hi Where can I find out some information and photos of converted paddlers used in WW2 with navel uses, and what they were prior to the war. Are there any good books available on the subject.
Looking forward to any replies that may be available.

The largest of Victoria's bay steamers, PS Weeroona, was bought by USA for use as an accommodation and convalescent ship.  Its boilers & engines were removed: it was towed as as Manila (Philippines).   It was towed back to Sydney in 1945, taken over by the Australian government, languished, and was scrapped in 1951.
