Introduce Yourself
« on: November 09, 2012, 02:07:45 AM »
Hello, I am desperately trying to find a simple model making kit of the Waverly or similar. My Dad is 86 and has made a few model ships, but he would dearly love to make a model of the Waverly. He grew up in Southend and spent many hours on the Waverly and has also been back over the last few years for trips up the estuary. I have tried to find a model without success so am now turning to all of you for any suggestions? It would make a lovely Christmas present.
Looking forward to any ideas.
Thanks Jane

Hi PD's...& hullow Jane

A build  :hammer of a model Waverley @ 1:48 scale = approx 7' long &......could take a few years ....so possibly Christmas 2013 or 2014 may be achievable

With your Dad @ the tender young age of 86  :beer..... :clap...lets just wait & see what other members can suggest.......

Thanks Kiwi andDerek,
Will try Kim at Clyde Models and keep an eye on here for ideas.

My Dad loves to keep busy and enjoys a challenge! Last year he won a model kit of the Titanic, he didn't fancy making that, so did  some research and with some changes made the Brittanic!! Made a very good job of it too  :bravo.

Appreciate your help.
Thanks  ;D
