Hello from Aberdeen

I have been an aeromodeller for the last 50 + years with the odd boat built here and there.
As I have become interested and enjoy model radio control yachting I joined the local boat club and have decided to build a paddleboat.
The one I have in mind is the Admiralty Paddle tug RMAS Forceful as the plan and a plastic hull are available from My Hobby Store. Can anyone offer advice on this particular build before I jump in and ruin a good boat ? I have seen on the internet a Canadian (?) company offering a CD on the build and plans but do not know if this is relevant or worth while

there are 2 suppliers of  fibreglass hulls for the director class  http://www.kingstonmouldings.com/pddirectorpaddle.htm  and http://www.modelsbydesign.co.uk/model_boats.aspx although i have not made this particular model most people who have say the key is to keep the superstructure as light as physically possible

There is a Canadian ebay seller who sells a lot of boat plans, personally i would not touch these but buy from the original souse.

the eBay seller is selling reprints from the original plans without the permission of the publisher. Most if not all the ones he is offering are still available from the original publisher (Model Boats) who own the copyright.
I would go with one of the fiberglass hulls, I have seen one of the Kingston Mouldings and it was very well made. I have also seen a plank on frame one 1/4 larger than the original plans that was run on live steam.

Many thanks for the replies, I have decided to go with the Model Boats plan (MM1292) and vac moulded My Hobbystore Hull (HULMM1292).
Can anyone advise if I need the Working Paddles plan (MM1293) or if there is paddles on the boat plan that will do.
