Flame blow out
« on: November 01, 2012, 10:50:19 AM »
First test run https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MfcpBbFvZ7w
I have noticed that the flame goes out when I open up the steam valve  :-[.
I think this is due to the steam outlet which exits at the base of the funnel any advice would be welcome.

I used to have this trouble - the jet of steam up the funnel acts like the blower on a loco and sucks the flame off the burner. I now run the exhaust nearly to the top of the funnel, but more importantly flair the end out so the exhaust is "soft". It also gives a much better effect than having a jet of steam coming out.
Hope this helps   Malcolm
