WHAT WOULD THIS MAKE?
« on: August 17, 2012, 06:25:18 AM »
My mate has just  produced this hull from a plug and mould he made over the last couple of weeks.....it's fully plated and measures approx 35" by 8" beam, and is meant for a drifter/trawler that he is making from scratch.
Howaever I like the looks of it as a paddler and was just wondering what sort of paddler it might make, as I like the looks of the hull, it's size.

what scale could be used and does anyone have pics of a boat that would fit the sizes above at say 1:24, 1:32 or even 1:48 scale.

cheers for any help.
neil.

my first thought was you could make something like 'chieftain' (superstructure, sponsons, fittings etc) but I don't think the hull would be exactly the same size and shape so you'd have to take a few liberties  to put the two together if you used the chieftain plans

cheers, I'll have a look at that one too.....it's not a project I'll be starting right away, but one for the pipe line so have time to decide.
cheers, neil.

There's a pretty good plan of a paddle tug called Strongbow here;

With a little tweaking I think it would suit that hull.
