Very good advise- as these types of boats were not based here- there are no museums to visit-

But I do like your reasoning.
The more I look at the brown superstructure photos I have to admit I am not found of the colors at all no matter how accurate they might be or not be for 1898.
The print off a picture and have a beer or two over a few days is wise council.
My deck for now is this dark flat reddish color-
unless that is way out of the norm ?- I will stick with it and just add some weathering.
I have to admit that I feel some responsibility to be presenting a Clyde type paddle tug accurately to the West Coast of the US where such boats are rarely if ever seen- I wanted to do it right ..as well as be on guard for when I post here about the re-working of her I did not offend the maritime culture or open my self to ridicule for making some color blunders....
