Hello from Russia
« on: November 06, 2011, 08:38:28 PM »
Hello everybody.
I was researching information about sidewheeler engine (fotos or drawings) when I found Paddleducks.
I want to build paddle steamer "Vanya" armed sidewheeler (rather static model).

A cursory search found the 1:200 scale card model below.
Sans plans, a 3d kit is aces.
The Vanya (Vanya-Communist) has a great history... would make
an excellent puddler, imo.

It is good. But if you do have many images of Vanya-identical paddlers, that will be VEry good. Do you have images of wheelhouse, hold, engine? I'm interested in "Diagonal sidewheeler engine of Compound sistem" (this taked from article about "Vanya").

Yes, Dave R, you are right. The tugboat "Vanya" was armed for civil war and named "mobilized' gun boat "Vanya #5". After several  battles for great services it/she?? was awarded/nicknamed "Vanya-Communist", but not officially... so as boat has/was sinked.

Paul.
sorry for my English
