Blackpool Model Boat Show 2011
« on: October 08, 2011, 10:12:44 AM »
Hi All,

Despite my rather slow development of the Clyde Model Boats web site .... I have been busy in many other ways.....

My next show is the Blackpool Model Boat Show...

October 15/16th
The Blackpool Model Boat Show
Norcalympia Hall
Norbreck Castle Hotel
Queens Promenade
Blackpool
FY2 9AA

On display this year we will have -

6 Paddle steamer Hulls
1 Paddle tug hull

New for the show we will have -

The 'Bryan Young' Hull range
Including the Blue Bird of Chelsea @ 1:12 scale

Those of you that follow his builds on the Mayhem (Master Class Builds)  site will know how exciting this is as an addition to our range!

What probably excites me the most is our new service -

We will be unveiling our new CNC pattern making service - advertised exclusively first on Paddle Ducks!

This excites me the most as I have been following industry trends for the past 15 years and have finally been able to turn this incredibly complicated process into a very simple & easy to use process.
Simply send me your Plans and in most cases you will have your plug back the next day! Or why not let us take care of moulding; we have teamed up with a professional laminator to offer you the next step at a very competitive price!
This is a huge mile stone in my CNC career!

In short - I can now turn your hull plans into an incredibly precise plug / former & produce moulds & hulls thereafter at an incredibly good price!
Forget old pattern making prices come speak to me!

Now I’m sure I will get shot down in flames if this following statement isn't true -

We are the first in the UK to offer this directly to the Model Boat Community at Model Boat Community prices....

I will of course be applying this technology to my own range first of all but I do welcome enquiries.

Regards
Kim MacLean

Kim, do you have any photos and dimensions for your TS Viper hull........it seams very similar to the hull of the King Orry 111 of 1913 vintage, and  would like to build one of this ship once I've finished my 3 lifeboats on the slipway....just wondering whether the hull would be a good one, as no plans for KO3 exist.
cheers, neil.

Hi Neil,
Thanks for your interest In Viper, she would probably be similar in shape the most noticeable difference in my very brief look at images of King Orry hull is the sterns are different.

Viper’s Hull Measurements –
LOA – 235cm
Beam – 25cm
Deck to keel height – 16cm

Now, as this is our last show of the season we will be selling all display hulls at a reduced price. Some hulls may have slight markings on them etc.
Prices will be advised at the show and will be on a first come first served basis. … could be a bargain to be had.

Regards,
Kim

Hi Neil,
I look forward to meeting you. I know you're no stranger to making a plug and would be very interested to hear your thoughts on our new service, perhaps even pick your brain on some of my future developments  if i could.
See you at the weekend,
Regards
Kim

Hi All,

As I said the other day we would be unveiling our new service - Rapid Pattern Production service.
I thought those of you that couldn't make the show might be interested in seeing our first CNC produced pattern.

It is a very exciting service and I will give more details to anyone interested. It will probably be a couple of weeks before we can make the service widely available as to my surprise I actually picked up some orders... the power of Paddle ducks?

Neil, great to put a face to the name and my sincere thanks for your help!

To all we spoke to many thanks for the visit and look forward to seeing you again soon......

Once again we were kindly invited to attend the Mobile Marine show in November.. details to be added to the web site this week.

A great show and I would recommend adding it to your own list of show to visit!
Regards,
Kim
