I can't find a suitable existing thread, so have a new one.
This Sunday, 3.7, local interests are celebrating the 85th anniversary of the Murrabit bridge over Murray River, built for road and rail.
I have an invitation to be aboard PV Iron Dry, coming from Swan Hill to be the vessel under the ceremonial opening.
I hope to be there, but I am desperate for time after my recent 5 weeks in Africa.
Any member of this forum who can position to the boat ramp (200 m downstream of the bridge, on the Victorian side) could well be aboard in my place. Just wave, and shout the magic words 'friend of Roderick Smith'.
I have alerted the owner to contact two other possible vessels, both of which were at the centenary of the Koondrook-Barham bridge: PS/PV Barham (dual powered) and steam launch St Elmo, which is based at the nearby major town, Kerang.
