Waverley cruise?
« on: February 23, 2011, 12:02:56 AM »
Hi guys,

Walter Snowdon, Bob Golder (possibly?), Hans Freund and his girlfriend Beate, and myself will be sailing on Waverley from Oban to Iona on Monday April 25th.....

Waverley is scheduled to leave Oban at 11:30am, stop at Iona where you can go and explore the Abbey etc, and return to Oban at 19:30.

The plan is to go to the Indian restaurant in Oban when we return for a curry... Maybe a few beers too?

Would anyone else care to join us?

Regards
Eddy

Ah lovely what a way to go and to such a beautiful island too. I can't see the attraction of Oban myself really, well maybe apart from the beer in convival surroundings with like minded souls. A shame that we can't get to it.
For all the island living experience that I have I would still rank Iona as the most beautiful and serene places to be. I spent two working holiday camps with the National Trust for Scotland Conservation Volunteers in the early '90's and the impression still lasts to this day.
I wish all those who take this opportunity the best of weather, fair sailing and good friends in great company, make the most of it!

cheers

Jim

You'd be very welcome if you can make it Richard.... The more the merrier! :)
