Have only found this site yesterday-19/10/2010-although I am very much an amateur at model engineering I am trying to make both the Simplex and the Tich live steam locomotives.
I think Model Steam Boating would be interesting as it will let me use my woodworking tools to make a hull and my metal working lathe, milling machine to make a steam plant. At least its a good idea!
Cheers

Welcome along to the world of model boating Bill. Yes that would be a good idea to start you off in the best manner. Nothing too complex for either project but join them together and the experience wil not just be to dimensional plans but a great lifestyle choice.

cheers

Jim

Yes Bill welcome, I am a woodworker who tries to model engineer :crash. Have built 2 paddle steamers (steam powered). I have just acquired a second hand kit for a 1" = 1ft traction engine. My theory is there is more pavement and water than model rail track. Go for it.  :goodluckR.G.Y
