sorry PD's....I am not trying to :hijack ....but there is a world wide thirst for scrap steel.....I see it every day.....huge B double trailers taking crushed car bodies to the Port of Kembla [near Wollongong] to be exported to Korea

Crazy  :ranting....all to come back as Hyundai Getz motor vehicles or those Hyundai Jaws of Death cutting machines  :crash as shown the the picture below........

In reality I can understand the LC's hull being recycled if no real benefactor can be found....but to cut up a twin cylinder horizontal steam engine like this is   :nono Derek  :41

They are very close to the engine now you can see it in this pic.
Its a triple expansion engine.

Saw her a few days ago. The engine had just been broken up and taken out. The crankshaft was burned through just inboard of the padleboxes.

A sad sight to see another paddler go, but the last few images show how badly corroded she was below the waterline.... Having said that, I've seen vessels in a lot worse condition get restored!
