I have changed from building plastic models from kits to building a 1/24 scale model of the PS Pevensey and am trying to keep the model as authentic as possible.  The Pevensey was built in 1910 at Moama NSW and is 111.6 ft oal and 23 ft beam at hull and 36.75 ft over sponsons.
The parts that I am interested in at the moment are the engine and boiler. the engine is a 20 hp twin cyl steam Marshall & Son UK and the boiler a wood fired - Marshall & Sons UK
Can anyone help me with suitable engine and boiler to suit this model at 1/24 scale

Hi and welcome to the forum. You could have a look at this website if you wanted live steam. I'm told they're very good but don't have any personal experience of them. Locally made, for us any way. http://www.miniaturesteammodels.com/prod71.htm

Hi PD's....& as Barry says....welcome to PD's......andamor.... & yes this OZ horizontal twin looks beautiful  :-*

Check out the PD Steam engine links & compare prices...I love to buy OZ...but am always careful...it is not difficult buying from overseas...there is also a British company called MacSteam models [not listed on PD's] & they produce some amazing boilers

I understand you haven't requested info on plans........but another OZ campany "Float a Boat" do a 1:24 scale plan set for the PS Pevensey for $65.00

http://www.floataboat.com.au/history.htm

[I have their plan for PS Oscar W as my next project after PS Decoy which is a ten year build]

The floataboat plans are extremely well detailed, but are for an experienced model builder...if you progress & build a PEV...the $65.00 would be the best investment you could make

Keep us posted on your progress .....Derek ..... :beer

Having just been over there for a visit I can tell our Aussie friends that Model Components in Brisbane do some very tidy looking boilers too and these would be available from Minature Steam as a package if you did decide to buy the horizontal paddler engine. There are plenty on this forum who will help you sort out a steam plant installation and you will never regret putting in the extra time and dollars to steam power your paddler. Dont be afraid to ask. Cheers, Ian.
